The fast-food giant is set to offer Eva Units 00, 01, and 02 figurines, whimsically repurposed to transmute into McDonald's core offerings — the Big Mac, fries, and beverages. In delightful tribute to the iconic mecha series, it's encapsulating this transformative gimmick with a familiar nod to the Transformers franchise. Beyond these unique toy offerings, the Evangelion crossover also introduces a special lineup of themed burgers.

The Original Japanese Voice Cast Reunites for Ad Campaign

In an unprecedented promotional endeavor, McDonald's secured the contribution of the original Japanese voice cast of Evangelion, reprising their roles to breathe more life into the fast-food advertisements. The ad campaign is further enhanced with playful references to the popular anime.

One of the notable cheeky inclusions sees Asuka's iconic line, "Anta baka?" (translated as "Are you an idiot?") cleverly reimagined as "Anta baagaa?" which translates to "Are you a burger?" even as the character Misato humorously directs her crew to prepare their food orders, in a twist on her usual in-episode military instructions.

McDonald's is set to unveil an assortment of three unique Evangelion-inspired burgers, each thoughtfully designed to capture varying flavors and strengths. The roster includes 'Zakugiri Potato and Nikuatsu Kokuuma Garlic Mayo', a dish encompassing a rich garlic mayo thick-cut potato and thick beef patty burger. Additional offerings feature the Mexican Cheese Chicken and the Cheese Double Teriyaki burgers.
