Scarlett Johansson's Excitement for Joining Jurassic World
Famed Marvel alum, Scarlett Johansson, is eager to step into a new cinematic universe as she has confirmed her role in the upcoming Jurassic World movie. Reports in March suggested that Johansson was in discussions to become a part of the Jurassic World franchise's seventh movie. The actress has expressed her excitement for the role, revealing that she is an enormous fan of the franchise and is looking forward to the film's incredible script.
Johansson expressed her enthusiasm in an interview with ComicBook.com, saying, "It's one of the first films I remember seeing in the theater. I remember seeing it so vividly. It was life-changing. It was mind-blowing. I cannot express how excited I am. The script is so incredible. David Koepp wrote it. He returned after like 30 years to write the script. He's so passionate about it, which is so awesome."
From Marvel to Jurassic Park: A Long-Time Goal Achieved
While she may only now be stepping down from a decade of service in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, Johansson admitted that she had set her sights on the beloved dinosaur franchise quite some time ago. The actress has held the Jurassic Park series near and dear to her heart since Jurassic World was released in theaters back in 2015. That film rebooted the franchise 22 years after its initial debut.
"I've been trying to get into this franchise in any possible way for over ten years. I'm such an enormous fan of the franchise and a huge nerd for it. I can't contain my excitement. I’ve been trying to get into this franchise in any possible way for over ten years," explains Johansson. She adds, "The fact that it's happening in this way at this time just is actually unbelievable."
Stellar Cast and a Two-Time Oscar Winner in the Mix
Johansson joins a star-studded cast that reportedly includes Manuel Garcia-Rulfo, Jonathan Bailey, and Rupert Friend, among others. Two-time Oscar winner, Mahershala Ali, had also shown interest in the project this past May. However, it remains unclear what position he would occupy in the movie, which is set to be released on July 2, 2025.
The untitled Jurassic World movie is presently in the principal photography phase in Thailand, under the direction of Gareth Edwards.
