  3. A lot of fast food is processed so it can be made & shipped long distances. Some chains prefer to keep the recipe universal so if you go to one, you'll have the same taste at others. They may be cutting down on flavors & spices to cut costs. People will still buy it up due to the convenience.

  5. This is exactly one of the reason why a lot of people seem to be very angry and hostile to the rich because they have always been on the short end of how cruel those rich folks have treated them. Right is meant to be the same for everyone, simply because you're richer than others shouldn't make the same right apply differently to you.

  9. The rich think they are "all that" & can do whatever they want. That's what they are trying to do with Maui. They used the "fires" as an excuse to drive out locals & make it where only the rich can afford it. Nobody has more Rights than anybody else. I don't care if it's skin color, wealth, belief. We are all human beings.

  10. In the United States, the principle of separating church and state has been a longstanding topic of discussion, and this extends to public education. The presence of religious references in government, such as the phrase 'in God we trust', can make it challenging to completely exclude religious elements from public institutions. However, a key focus in public schools should be to foster an environment where students of all religious backgrounds feel welcome and are provided with an equitable educational experience. This includes ensuring that there is no discrimination based on religious beliefs or the lack thereof. On the other hand, the role of religion in addressing moral and cultural issues is a broader societal matter. While some may argue that a decline in religious observance could impact morality, attributing cultural or moral challenges directly to the presence or absence of religious education in public schools oversimplifies the issue. Public schools are just one part of a larger societal framework, and the solution to such complex problems likely involves multiple facets of society, not solely the education system.

Been looking to join a new forum that focuses mostly just on community and talking about current things. The last forum I was a member on for many years shut down. I have not been able to find a replacement yet. This one looks and feels promising though! I hope everyone is doing well and I look forward to e-meeting new people :D

  14. Lost Legends of the Web: A Tribute to Our Favorite Offline Forums Welcome to the Lost Legends section of The Forum Addicts Club! From the early days of the internet, forums have been the cornerstone of online communities. They've been spaces of passionate discussions, friendships, and innumerable shared experiences. However, with the evolution of the web, many of these beloved spaces have gone offline, leaving behind memories and nostalgia. In this space, we invite you to share and celebrate the forums that once held special places in our digital hearts. Whether you were an admin, a lurker, a top poster, or even if you stumbled upon an old forum just once and it left an impression β€” we want to hear about it! What to Share? Stories: Were you the owner or moderator of a forum that's now offline? Share your stories β€” the challenges, the triumphs, the hilarious ban moments, and more. Memories: Remember that time when everyone stayed up all night discussing the season finale of a show? Or when the forum collectively decided to have a theme day? Dive into your memory bank and let us reminisce with you. Images: Got a screenshot of the old forum's layout, logo, or any memorable threads? Share it with us! While forums might go offline, the memories and friendships last. Let's come together to pay tribute, share stories, and perhaps, reconnect with some old forum friends. Who knows? Your post might just rekindle a long-lost internet friendship! Remember to respect privacy: refrain from sharing personal information, and ensure any images or stories you post don't violate anyone's privacy. Let the trip down memory lane begin! 🌐πŸ–₯οΈπŸ’Ύ

  15. Interesting stuff indeed. The building blocks of life aren't exactly common, so if they got here from elsewhere... that makes me wonder where else they might have reached!

  16. That is a concerning thought... indeed it's not just Putin, but also Xi Jinping, Kim Jong-un, and others. What if they all decided to attack at once? The USA certainly wouldn't be able to handle it alone. And whatever problems the current administration might have, that's also true of past administrations: the USA has never been powerful enough to take on the entire rest of the world on its own (except perhaps a brief period in 1945-49, when they were the only ones to have a nuclear bomb). Instead, I believe there would need to be a united response from the entire Western world.

  17. That is the issue with humans nowadays. They get lazier & lazier with all this tech. Thinking tech will save them & protect them. They don't realize that those behind the tech can monitor us.

  25. I have written over 40 poems and all I can tell you is that you need to have some sort of inspiration to be able to write a poem. It's not something you just wake up and start doing. Your poems must be tied to where your inspiration comes from. As long as you still feel inspired, you will keep writing but the moment you lose your inspiration, it's going to be very difficult for you to write one poem.

  27. I hope the rest of the year goes well! We prefer to just relax instead of going away on vacation anymore. Are you have a drought too? I'm in the USA & we haven't had rain in a long time. I know Canada is dry as well with the wildfires. Whereabouts are you? I'm in Michigan but I know the east coast is getting the smoke.

  30. Forum that focuses on environmental, holistic (whole person) issues in a secular setting. It covers eco-friendly living, alternative natural health, mental health, & pets. There is a general section for Question of the Day, Entertainment because everybody is on their own path holistically & sometimes we just need those light-hearted discussions. Let us Learn & Grow together πŸ™‚ https://holisticallysecular.proboards.com/

  31. That is interesting! I remember awhile back some who used Avast couldn't get onto some Proboards forums due to the bumped up security. I thought that was a good thing & almost moved to Avast myself. Now we hear they breached our privacy. What goes through their minds?

  32. Sorry to sound old, but back in my day, there was none of this. Video games, and primitive ones at that, was all that was available. Anyway, I'm not sure if online chatting is good for kids, but I don't want to be judgemental.

  33. Pretty much this. Outside of things that are just personal preference, a lot of the β€œpopular” opinions are based on more concrete evidence, and a lot of the β€œunpopular” opinions are based off less than savory evidence. For example, in regards to medical advice, I’d take the word from a doctor than say a blog written by some random person. The doctor has credentials for their profession, but for the blogger, who the hell is that person?

  35. Unfortunately you are right! I agree! Thank you for looking more into it! Sounds interesting. I do hope they find a solution & if this goes over well, it can maybe be implemented in other states.

  36. Yeah, that's right and it's best not to speed much so you don't get to hit and kill or injure some of them. I watched a video where a deer 🦌 jumped on the road and didn't wanna go. It was very funny. It appeared her baby was stuck somewhere. The mother deer had to get the driver's attention to follow her right to where her baby was stuck. That's how the baby deer was saved from certain death.

  40. I do feel as though YouTube does give those that are more popular the better end of YouTube. I have been on YouTube for a while and I was pushing content out almost consistently for 5 years. I still now struggle to get the push I need to reach partner even though I put the work in. YouTube used to be a platform for everyone but now it seems like it's more of a platform for those who can make YouTube the most money and that is sad to see.

  41. I have CarPlay, but it requires I plug my phone in. Sometimes I’m too lazy to plug it in for just a short drive, so I listen to the radio. My annoyance with the radio is how often they play the same songs over and over. Apparently the local classic rock station only recognizes 20 songs that came out between 1970 and 1989. My favorite line from that station is β€œwe own the entire Eagles catalog”. I didn’t know the Eagles only wrote one song.
