Vox Media Code ConferenceVox Media CEO Jim Bankoff today announced that Code, the companyâs annual invitation-only conference that convenes the biggest names in tech, is returning for its 20th year. Following Code co-founder Kara Swisherâs announcement last year that sheâd be stepping down as host and executive producer of the conference, this yearâs event will feature new hosts and a new location. Taking place from September 26-27 at the Ritz Carlton, Laguna Niguel, the 2023 conference will be hosted by The Vergeâs editor-in-chief Nilay Patel, Platformer founder Casey Newton, and CNBC senior media and tech reporter Julia Boorstin, with additional sessions hosted by voices from across Vox Media including Swisher, Stay Tuned host Preet Bharara, and Recode Media host Peter Kafka.
âNew location, new hosts, but the substance and values of Code will remain,â said Bankoff. âCode is one of my favorite moments of the year for Vox Media. Itâs a place where the biggest names in tech and the worldâs best storytellers and journalists from both Vox Mediaâs network and beyond gather.â
In the two decades since Swisher and co-founder Walt Mossberg initially launched Code as đ§ the All Things D Conference Series, it has established itself as the countryâs premier conference on tech and media, bringing to the stage the most influential voices shaping the future of technology and business, including technology stalwarts such as Steve Jobs, and Bill Gates, as well as Airbnb CEO Brian Chesky, Amazon CEO Jeff Bezos, Apple CEO Tim Cook, Google and Alphabet CEO Sundar Pichai, actor Gwyenth Paltrow, Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg, former Meta COO Sheryl Sandberg, Netflix co-CEO Ted Sarandos, former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, Spotify CEO Daniel Ek, Tesla Technoking Elon Musk, Vice President Kamala Harris, and many others. As it enters its next chapter, Code will continue to host hard-hitting conversations about the most pressing tech issues of the moment. Speakers and programming for the 2023 conference will be announced in the coming months at voxmediaevents.com/code2023. To be considered for an invitation to this yearâs event, apply here.
