Youmacon 2026 returns to Huntington Place in downtown Detroit from October 29 through November 1, 2026. Taking place over Halloween weekend, the four-day convention brings together anime fans, gamers, cosplayers, artists, performers, vendors, and creators for one of Michigan’s largest celebrations of anime and pop culture.
The convention features a wide range of programming centered on anime, manga, video games, cosplay, Japanese pop culture, and fan creativity. Attendees can expect guest panels, live events, cosplay gatherings, contests, concerts, tabletop and video gaming, fan-led discussions, and late-night programming throughout the weekend.
Youmacon’s Marketplace brings together its vendor hall, Artist Alley, industry representatives, sponsors, and convention guests. Attendees can browse anime merchandise, collectibles, apparel, artwork, crafts, accessories, and independently produced creations from artists and small businesses.
Cosplay is a major part of the Youmacon experience, with competitions, character gatherings, photography opportunities, and international cosplay qualifying events. The convention also has a substantial gaming presence, including tabletop games, console and computer gaming, tournaments, and extended-hours activities.
Youmacon is also known for distinctive fan programming such as its Maid Café, anime music video competitions, Fan Art Theater, concerts, idol performances, and interactive events. Its Halloween-weekend setting gives the 2026 convention an especially strong emphasis on costumes, nighttime entertainment, and themed activities.
Although Youmacon is primarily an in-person convention, fans unable to travel to Detroit may be able to follow announcements and selected media through its official website and social channels. No complete livestream or online version of the 2026 convention has been announced.
By combining anime, gaming, cosplay, live entertainment, shopping, and community-created programming under one roof, Youmacon remains a major annual gathering for fandom communities throughout Michigan and the broader Midwest.
