I have been noticing this trend lately. Most of the time sites like huffingtonpost, buzzfeed, IGn etc, they decide how society should behave. They decide who we should vote and what we should do with out life. And they dictate the way society should move in the direction. I am not sure I agree with that but I am thinking these are like dictators.

Do you think newspaper and society is dictating us?

I do not know if they are dictating our lives, but they are way to involved in politics and opinions anymore.  Even just looking at my regular news feed, it is almost half opinion pieces and that is not the job of the news media.

Indeed. Titles like "Your X religion is bad, this Y religion is better, and we all agree" type of pieces from the buzzfeed and the huffington are pretty damaging. I stopped such type of the opinion pieces from getting into feed and instead subscribed to some of the video based sites to stream gameplay and anime on my feed. Works for me.

Ya, the opinion pieces are getting out of hand and the fact that so many are based on politics is slightly concerning.  I think many forget that these services often push sides to get more views and therefore more income, but the practice is getting a bit out of hand.

News & journalism are not the same as it used to be. Now it's for drama & entertainment. Who can have the biggest wow factor. It's liken to a TV show. & most companies are owned by one side & puts down anybody who doesn't believe the way they do. It's quite sad!

I enjoy looking at the papers that print different headlines for different areas of the cities they serve.  How can that be factual reporting when the same source prints two or more articles on the same thing?

It's common knowledge in the US that American media caters to either liberals or conservatives and both sides make unreasonable demands on their followers.  For instance, everything on the right is about "manning up" and on the left, "victimization".
