I have watched a lot of subtitled movies from the anime universe. Be it "grave of fireflies", "my neighbor totoro" etc and few of the other miyazaki movies. Some of the really good art came out of that studio. And some modern movies are good too.

They are CG anymore.  The original was great and the remake of it was also great!  However, I don't think the followup movies were as good, but I enjoyed them.

My favourite anime will always be Avatar the Last Airbender. I have watched the 3 seasons it came with more times than I can count and I would still be open to watching it all over again. I can't get over the character of Aang in the anime.
