Verizon is making it easier to block spam texts sent by email

Recommended Posts

From The Verge:

Verizon now allows you to block spam texts from random email addresses by texting "Off" to 4040. This new feature lets you turn off email-to-text directly from your phone. However, keep in mind that if you turn off email-to-text, you won't receive any emails to your phone number. To start receiving text messages from email addresses again, text "On" to 4040. You can check the status of email-to-text by sending "Status" to 4040. Verizon has other protections in place, including a call filter and the option to report spam texts.
