TL;DR: Hulu and Disney+ have announced price increases for certain plans, leading to backlash from subscribers. Starting in October, Disney+ ad-free will increase to $13.99/month, and Hulu ad-free will increase to $17.99/month. Hulu Live TV plans will also see price increases. Subscribers are expressing frustration, especially amidst ongoing strikes in the industry. This is not the first time these platforms have raised prices, with Hulu increasing in 2022 and Disney+ raising prices twice in the past year. Other streaming services have also experienced price hikes. The rising costs of streaming services have led some consumers to reconsider cord-cutting.
