This is the first time an in-house unit of solely VFX workers has ever unionized with IATSE. The workers demanded fair pay, healthcare, a safe working environment, and respect for their work. The decision comes after years of reported crunch, low pay, and unsustainable working conditions. This vote aligns with ongoing strikes by the WGA and SAG-AFTRA for better pay and working conditions in Hollywood.
