Container Gardening

A lot of folks are now living in apartment and have limited space they can use for the gardening. You can see that there is a market demand and also demand from hobbyist for the container gardening. And it can also work out as long as you have some time and good choice of herbs or plants to plant.

Have you thought about container gardening? Is this something you can do?

I have kind of tried, but I start to feel bad for the plants I kill.

Container gardening can actually be used even for those of us with land. We have sandy soil here & I use containers & raised beds with good topsoil as it helps the plants grow better. Plus, if it's raised, it helps with back pain from bending over so much.

I had two containers of zucchini plants last year and one plant gave me SO many veggies, but the other had some issues. I had drilled drainage holes in the bottom of both and I didn't realize that their root systems and gone out through the holes and down into the ground. When I went to move the containers to spray for bugs on the bushes nearby, I think I killed the roots for one of the containers. That's the one that didn't give me many veggies.

I have some basil in a container now and it's near my back door. It's doing great so far!! I like that I can move it where I need it.
