Dischler also mentioned that raising ad prices was a way for Google to boost search revenue during slow periods. Google generated over $100 billion from search ads in 2020, with most of the growth coming from mobile search. The Justice Department argues that Google's ability to increase prices with little competition supports its claim of an unlawful monopoly. The trial is expected to continue until November with a verdict anticipated next year.
