Yeah, I don't think it could work either.
I will admit, communist countries did make some nice music - but it's just about the only good thing they did IMO 😛 .
What kind of music? I liked Prokiev a lot. His classical hit was "Peter and the Wolf".

I've stopped discussing politics on Facebook because what I'm saying isn't cool on there, mainly because most of the people are Trump supporters and they brand all opponents as soft (snowflakes etc.) and there is plenty of passive aggression and, in fact, it goes offline also, in many circumstances. Well, It amazes me how fired up people are over politics.
Note: I made some comic comment over snowflakes and chainsaws in some forums because I'm so fed up with the political bullying by both sides. Of course, real people involved in this fighting don't find it funny.

There is some argument on whether the whole situation in Israel is justified in that do Israelis have a right to the land. Well, being an American, obviously there is hypocrisy. Anyway, you see in history that land is taken from weaker groups, especially if the land is valuable and my impression of Israel is they are bullies, but saying that doesn't mean I'm anti-Semitic. It's just a fact cause stronger groups colonizing land are like that.
Note, however, you could say that the Islamic world was taken over by Islam by the sword, just like Latin America was made Catholic by the sword. Well, what do you all think?

Learning new things is always great to get rid of boredom. That's why I am always trying to learn new things, though, lately I have stopped due to a focus on my job and adjusting to my new home. Anyway, I want to get back into studying hard.

It's my head because I keep hitting it, ha ha. I'm tall and I hit my head around two months ago causing a concussion. It took a month to get over it. There was tiredness, headaches, and nausea.

I sold a bunch of XenForo licenses because I was low on money. I regret it badly. However, though, on the bright side, I wasn't doing nothing with them and maybe cool projects were made with them. I don't really know what was done with them.

I was bit by a non-poisonous snake as a kid and it hurt bad. In that case, I would try to get away from a snake. Anyway, though, somebody did give me a bag with a snake in high school and I held the bag. I guess I'm a tough guy, ha ha.

I don't like swearing on TV, unless it's on some channel like HBO. I mean, our society has gotten too light on the stuff, and people need some class, and I don't mean school.

Creatures evolve & adapt. Those who are religious may not like the evolve term but honestly, all creatures have "evolved". We adapt, become resistant, become NOT resistant. That is evolving.
I can see how after awhile, animals carry genes to fight off infections & diseases.
While I believe in natural immunity, once humans get their hands on it & try to "figure it out", they'll exploit the whole concept & turn it from something natural into a money-maker complete with side effects. It won't be the same anymore.
People probably evolve, but many die in the process, ha ha. I mean, for instance, our food is laden with junk killing us, but probably some people are adapting and surviving despite the fact, but, of course, it doesn't justify the food.

I'm a spontaneous person. I don't like planning. This has caused me trouble with some family members, as they are into planning and try to encourage others to do the same.
They think I am being lazy and sloppy, but I'm just a spontaneous person.

I sold a bunch of XenForo licenses. It was a time when I was hurting for money. Anyway, now there are so many things I could be doing with them.
I also regret selling RoyalKnight.com for 40 USD. The value may have gone up big time on it by now.

I'm definitely a fan of privacy, religious beliefs aside. It's just simply something that invades privacy and I really don't like people bossing me around.

Do you feel it's a good or bad system or something in-between? Why did the Soviet Union and other nations fall, and could Communism make a comeback?
Myself, I don't think it works due to human nature. I also don't think some new version of it would work as some Communist apologists might point out.
-
I don't think it is. It's biased by propaganda. Nonetheless, though, there is some truth in the propaganda, up to a point. For instance, looking at Nazi Germany, I don't think they had the army or desire to conquer the word, but I still strongly distrust them, as I would have the Soviets.

It seems like memory upgrades would be easier on a desktop. Otherwise, I suppose there's no reason for me to prefer one or the other.

Sounds like the implanted chip thing that Christians are worried about. Is Musk even aware of that? He's not a Christian as far as I know.

People have become desensitized to their own & other's humanity. It's easy to bully, be disrespectful to another when you can't see the repercussions of your actions.
What I think is sad is when you go out to eat & people are looking down at their phones instead of chatting with their friends.
Yeah, people are such cowards behind the screen. I wonder if they ever get found out offline. Any links on that?

I wouldn't say it's made my life "less meaningful": it's very useful for connecting me with people who I wouldn't otherwise have had any way of knowing.
However, it's certainly no replacement for real life. Actually being in nature - and being able to see, smell and hear it for myself - is far superior to just reading about it online!
Well, even the real close friends I have online were made offline.

The Damage Caused by Infantilizing the Disabled | Psychology Today
Treating the disabled or for that matter any child of yours in some "baby way" isn't a cool way to go. In fact, as was noted in the "Moving Out at 18" thread, we discussed how some adult children have become brats (NEET), but you know, this whole culture of babying people isn't helping the situation.

Back in the day, Dave Thomas was on hundreds of Wendy's commercials and most of the time it was helping. Anyway, though, I'm sure such attempts have not always worked. In fact, on the movie Wayne's World, they did this fictional spoof of some guy advertising his video arcade business (Noah Vanderhoff).

Today's world is too technological. Do you feel it has made life less wholesome and meaningful? Well, I don't really know what I'm trying to say, but you can guess. I guess, I mean, it's not The Waltons TV show nowadays.

I have to admit, I haven't really noticed it - because I don't eat enough of it!
I do think it's tasted a bit worse the last couple of times I've had it, but that could just be me: my tastes might have matured, or I might be misremembering how good it was in the first place 😛 .
At one time, the beef patties on a Wendy's burger were a treat in itself. Now they are horrible and only the vegetables save the sandwich, but this could just be the situation of not all restaurants.

They may be cutting down on flavors & spices to cut costs. People will still buy it up due to the convenience.
That's gotta be what's wrong.

That's the problem with those guys, it's whining about first world problems like your parents not buying you video games, or how your parents are assholes for telling you to get a job.
Well, that's what social conservatives are bringing up about the anti-bullying movement etc.. In fact, people are too soft, but that's not saying that outright misogynic abuse is OK, though.
My personal view is that a lot of people are cursed. There's this whole group of people on disability when their problems are exaggerated and the end-game is to make them weak and servants of the state (state programs etc.).
AI's Effect on Capitalism
in Serious Debates

Well, honestly, if everyone can use AI to write like Stephen King, then what does that do to the novelist field? If anyone can be a brain surgeon, (I don't know how AI could cheat on that one, though.) then what's the justification for the salary?
Anyway, what I'm getting at is people are paid for their skill, cause everyone doesn't have the same ability. For instance, it would take me a long time to produce a novel. It would take Stephen King a lot shorter time, even without AI.
