Vinyl records have once again outdone CDs in sales, marking the second consecutive year for this trend. Last year, 43 million vinyl records were sold, which is 6 million more than CD sales. This growth in vinyl sales has been consistent for 17 years, with vinyl also generating significantly higher revenueโ$1.4 billion compared to CDs' $537 million. Despite the rise of streaming services, which account for 84% of music revenue, physical media remains resilient, holding an 11% share of sales. The RIAA notes this endurance even amidst the rise of generative AI, which poses new challenges for the music industry. Vinyl's popularity could be attributed to the decline …

KPOP music is something I have started listening to more since my daughter became a huge fan of BTS and started listening to them and other KPOP artists more over the last 4 years. I don't mind listening to some KPOP as some of it is really good and enjoyable and it's a different kind of music so a breath of fresh air to listen to. Do you listen to KPOP?

Which would you pick? While I don't care for music much & only played the flute in middle school, to pick, I'd choose the Harp. It's almost like a dance the way they play.

Even though I grew up in the country, I was never really into it. I preferred light 80โs rock. Though I do appreciate some country songs & singers out there. When I was a teen, I had a penpal (pre-internet days!) who was from Tennessee, USA so she got me into more country music when I visited her. Do you like it? Do you have a favorite singer or song?

Not really. Whenever I do drive, I just prefer the silence. I don't listen to the radio or to music too much but when my husband & I are going to visit my parents, we have the radio on. Some local news is always good to hear. Plus it helps pass the time. My husband has several stations he listens to actually on his way to work. Sometimes it can be calming listening to different types of music & it's easier than having to have CDs all over.

A room or even a space dedicated to your playing & storing your equipment? Even one for listening? Iโm curious what people have. If you donโt have a room, what works for you? Do you tend to have to pack up your equipment often?

Do you have a favorite song or even a group as a whole that lifts you up anytime you are down? That helps to empower you in life? I like Bon Joviโs โItโs my lifeโ. Most songs from Bon Jovi are quite empowering in my opinion. There are other songs from the 80โs that I loved as well that helped me through some tough times. Those consisted of finding & having love, beating the odds in life.

Do you still buy physical music such as casette tapes, CD's, vinyl? Or are you all-digital now using the likes of Apple Music/iTunes or Spotify? I think the last physical album I bought was back in 2016 with Blink-182's "California" release. the only reason I bought it was because I was in a best buy and saw it advertised and had some extra scratch so I bought it but I just find it more convenient to buy the music digitally nowadays as most PC's don't even support a CD drive anymore.

I think the best way to learn is first, to have the willingness to learn as well as the desire. There are loads of books, videos people can read & watch. When I learn something, I tend to learn on my own but I do like having a one on one to help me when I get stuck. Some people prefer classes as that fits their personality better. What helps you the most when you are learning music? Whether it is learning tips on how to write a song or playing an instrument.

After roughly 8 years, the original Blink-182 lineup is reuniting (hopefully for the final time as the title of the album would suggest) for a new studio album and the songs they've released so far, are sounding pretty good. The new album "One More Time" is set to release on October 20th. The original guitarist Tom Delonge originally left the band in 2005, and then reunited with the band in 2009, put out an album "Neighborhoods" in 2011 and an EP "Dogs Eating Dogs" in 2012, before leaving the band again in 2015. Blink-182 brought in Alkaline Trio's Matt Skiba for 2 studio albums in 2016's California & 2019's "Nine" (which ironically was their 8th studio album) bef…

I listen to most of my music on Spotify, or if I want to watch the videos for the music I will listen to them on YouTube. This is also where I get new music as I find it easier to locate them than Spotify. Where do you get your music? Is anyone here old school and collects CD or vinyl?

I can do without heavy metal. All the instruments playing & the singers donโt sing, they yell. Country music is another one along with rap music. Now granted, I do like some country songs but for the most part, I gravitate towards 80โs music. The era I grew up in. Music was different back then.

There is a new trend among the people lately. Those who want to concentrate and work on something like say study. They make use of the slow beat chill music. They use this music to keep their head calm. You will find such music being featured on the youtube for hours live. I listen to it for the mood change every now and then. Have you tried slow beat chill music?

I have been listening to the trance since the late 90s. And it was kind of new to me. I spent a lot of time listening to the various artist tracks and the music collection. And it was fun listening to the various artists. I'd say trance music is the best music worth listening to. I listen to it on youtube, spotify and few other online stations. Do you like trance and EDM?

I know some people do. I had a friend in school who couldnโt sleep without the radio on. To me, I need white noise. Listening to music tends to distract me especially if itโs a good song. You just want to sing along to it lol If you do fall asleep to music, what do you like to listen to? How does it help you sleep?

I used to LOVE listening to music through Amazon Prime! I had the app on my iPod when I worked but then my iPod got too old to do the updates so I had to stop using it. I have the app on my phone and noticed that I can't play my Playlists in order or select a song by demand now. Back in November Amazon changed it so that there is a constant shuffle! It's ridiculous!

Putting this in Music. This was very popular back in the 80โs. Itโs a form of street dance. It involves being very athletic. It almost reminds me of Parkour, just set to music & you stay in one place versus moving around a course. When I did a search, it still remains popular in some areas. Have you tried it? I will admit I donโt care for dancing & cannot imagine doing all the moves this sort of dance requires. However, you have to give respect where respect is due at the ingenuity.

Itโs not just for kids. There are different variations. For those who are not familiar with it, you place chairs either in a circle or back to back. With one less chair than the number of people. One person plays the music. All go around the chairs. Once the music stops, everybody must sit down. The person who doesnโt find a chair is out. Many people may remember this from their childhoods but there are grown-up parties that are light-hearted that incorporate this fun activity. What do you think of it? Did you like it as a kid? What about as an adult?

I remember when I was younger, I used to love going to live concerts. In my time going to live concerts I went to see Barry Manilow, Five and also Atomic Kitten, A1, and Bomfunk MCs to name a few, and loved them. Nowadays due to my health and mental health, I find it hard to be in really busy places so live concerts are not always something I would go to now. If you could see anyone live, who would you want to see?
